IN BRITTANY, BEHIND EVERY EVENT, THE WEIRD BEINGS OF CELTIC FOLKLORE AND LEGENDS ARE AT WORK.
Concarneau, at the end of the 19th century. Helpless, Gwenn witnesses the shipwreck of the Dundee, her husband Erwan's boat. In the washed-up wreckage, she finds his logbook, which reveals an ancestral sailors' secret: the Morrigans, who live in the oceans, and the Sylvain Knights, who protect the land, have been warring with each other for centuries, engulfing ships in their wake. No-one knows the reason for their combat, but it all seems to be
related to the dryad, a forest nymph. Gwenn decides to scour the length of Brittany to find her, in order to find some meaning in Erwan's death.
